Let me tell you a little about how I got started in the wonderful world of essential oils.
Firstly I haven’t always been into natural health. It’s a journey which I started a few years ago when I left my first career working in Human Resources. Back then I was working crazy hours for someone else, grabbing fast unhealthy food and living on energy drinks! After 16 years of hiring and firing, which hardly made me feel good at the end of the day, I loaded my body with rubbish and this had an impact on both my physical and mental well being. I was burnt out and exhausted.
So I retrained and became a Dog Behaviourial Therapist and Trainer! I had always loved animals, and particularly dogs, and so it then became my career. It was really less about training dogs and more about helping their owners to understand them better. A huge “light bulb” moment happened for me when I was taught the link between food, health and behaviour with dogs during my training. It made me not only think back to past dogs I had owned and the mistakes I had made, but also about my own health. Over the next 12 years I ran my own business. Now that gives you a great deal of freedom in some respects but it also meant that I was working crazy hours, sitting in the car for far too long and being pulled all over the place by some of my more unruly four footed clients! I truly loved the dogs but I wanted to move onto something which combined both animals and my love of natural health.
So quite by accident, Young Living came into my life. I had heard about essential oils, but not researched them to any degree. After gate crashing an event for existing Young Living members, at which I heard more about the science and experienced the oils for myself, I was hooked. I loved the fact that there was a way of helping people and earning an income. I signed up the day after the meeting and haven’t looked back.
I have had the opportunity to travel to the US, Croatia and Berlin since joining. I also met my partner Sarah through Young Living, as well as making some wonderful friends. In November 2015 I moved to Germany, having sold my Dog Training business. I use YL products every single day. They truly have been life changing for me in respects I never expected!
Although based in Germany, I’m regularly back and forth to the UK, and have team members in Belgium too. I chat with team members via Skype, Messenger, Facebook etc so it really doesn’t matter where you may live. There are also few differences in the products and the processes Young Living uses if, like me, you live outside the US. I can help you with that, as I know it may appear confusing.
My partner and I run an online shop as we discovered that many oil accessories are really easy to get in the US, but not in Europe. We do ship around the world though and have included some other health related products which are in keeping with the whole Young Living lifestyle. Have a look at http://www.woofandfancy.com If that seems like an odd address, it’s because I’m known as Woof and Sarah is Fancy!
If you’ve found yourself reading this far, I guess there may be a part of my story which resonates with you. Whether it’s using the products to support you or your pets, or getting out of the rat race, I’d love to connect with you and chat. It’s never too late to make a new start
PS – I’ve also been fortunate enough to be featured on a couple of podcasts. The link to one is below, if you want to have a listen.
